You will receive your curated gallery of digital images in 4 - 8 weeks. Sometimes I can get them out sooner than that. It all depends on my schedule and what season it is.
Should I be unable to attend due to sickness or injury, I will hire another photographer to take my place, one who is similar to my own shooting style and skill level. I will still edit and deliver your images though.
Yes, you most certainly do! I provide a print release with all of my galleries. You are free to print your photos wherever you'd like.
Quality over quantity is always good to remember. I deliver around 50 - 100 photos per hour.
If for some reason you need to reschedule your wedding, I will do everything that I can to reschedule with you. However, I cannot guarantee that the date you reschedule to I will be available. If this is the case, or you cancel your wedding, I will refund any payments you made after the non-refundable retainer.
No worries, I'm awkward in front of the camera too! But that doesn't mean you can't have beautiful photos. I work with you to make sure that you are absolutely comfortable in your photos. I start off all my engagement sessions with some candid, fun, and comfortable prompts. Only once you're comfortable do I start posing. For weddings, I will be there to tell you to stick that chin out and put your shoulders back, and to distract you from your nerves. While I'm there to document your memories, making sure that you are comfortable and enjoy your day is my priority.
I prefer to communicate all inquiries over email.
However, when we get closer to your wedding date, I like to use texting as a faster means of communication.

After corresponding with you and finalizing details of your wedding, I will email you an e-contract with an attached invoice. Once you electronically sign the contract- and then I countersign- you can pay the non-refundable retainer that is due at the time of booking. Once that retainer is paid and contract signed, you are officially booked!
I require a $500.00 non-refundable retainer at the time of booking. This retainer is applied towards your balance and books you into my calendar. Often times I can get multiple inquiries for the same date, and your retainer compensates me for turning down other jobs for your date. I do not take multiple weddings on the same day. You are my priority. The remaining balance is due at any point before your wedding. I usually make this one payment, that you can pay off at your leisure, but I can also break it down into multiple payments if you'd rather.
I accept cash and all major credit/debit cards. My online booking system is secure, and I use the same system for your gallery, contract, and invoice.
You do not have to pay taxes on your photos, because I am not delivering a physical product to you. This is why I deliver an online gallery instead of a USB, to avoid a physical product and taxing my clients.
Yes, I definitely do! Not only do I have a second camera as a back up, but sometimes I shoot with both of my camera bodies at the same time. Weddings go by fast, and I don't want to miss a shot. This means that should something go wrong, I have a backup camera to use so that I make sure not to miss a single moment.
I don't shoot a wedding without my second shooter. Having that back up is so important to me that it's included in my wedding experience and it's not something I cut out. Not only does my second shooter take different angles, but they focus on getting those candid photos everyone loves! Sometimes I'm so wrapped up in the timeline and shot list that I don't get to these, but my second shooter does. Having one with me is invaluable.
I am part of an incredible photography network that has some really amazing photographers in it. Should my regular second shooter be unavailable for your date, I would inquire to one of them and hire them for the day. Otherwise my second shooter does every wedding with me.
On top of my film-like editing style, I offer very basic retouching. This means spots on the photo that otherwise shouldn't be there, specs of dirt (or bugs) in your dress and on skin, etc. What I do not offer is body modification of any kind. I believe that everyone is beautiful, and it goes against my business values to offer that.
Oh yes! I am very comfortable with my flash, both indoor and outdoor. While I prefer shooting in natural light, a moody reception hall isn't going to stop me. I can adapt to any lighting situation.
My opinion? Yes. Definitely yes. I believe in this so much that I include a complimentary engagement session with my full wedding experience. Not only is the engagement session perfect for Save the Dates, but it gives us a chance to get comfortable. It's one less thing to worry about on your wedding day. The last thing you need is to be awkward or uncomfortable in front of the camera, and your engagement session is the perfect way to set those worries aside.
On top of that, it gives us a chance to get to know each other before your wedding. I absolutely love showing up to a wedding and greeting my couples as friends, rather than strangers. There's a huge difference, and that's why engagement sessions are so important to me!
No, I do not deliver my RAW files. I do shoot in RAW, but I deliver JPEG files in your gallery. When you hire me, you hire me for more than just the day of your session. That is only half of what I do. The other half is spent in post, editing your photos. It is my belief that if you hire me, you do so because you like my photography and editing style.
I deliver your photos in an online gallery with the option to download two different sized JPEG files. One at a high-quality large size ready for printing- these are watermark free; and one at a smaller size, perfect for sharing on social media- these have a small watermark in the bottom corner. You are free to share your gallery with anyone. Your images can only be downloaded with the provided PIN.
I usually choose highlights from your gallery to show on my social media, and full galleries are available for six months in my portfolio. It's important to me as a photographer to showcase my most recent work, and future clients love seeing real work in my portfolio. I also blog recent weddings as well.
If for some reason you feel that your photos should not be posted to my online channels, please let me know.
Yes. Me and my second shooter are covered under a General Liability policy and I can provide a Certificate of Insurance should your venue require it.
Your online gallery remains live for six months. You have that amount of time to download your digital files. If, for whatever reason, after that six months is up you need access to your photos, I archive digital files for an additional six months, and can provide a download link for you to access them.
More than likely, yes. I try to submit all of my weddings to online publications. That doesn't mean your wedding will necessarily get accepted, as online blogs are quite picky. Sometimes it's not the wedding or the images, it's just a matter of how full their schedule is.
However, I absolutely LOVE getting weddings and engagement sessions published. Should your wedding or session get accepted for publication, I will reach out to you and let you know. I will then probably ask you to answer some questions for the publisher, that they can pass on to their viewers.
Not only is publication amazing for all of the vendors who worked on your wedding, but it's fun to feel a little famous too! If you don't want your wedding or session submitted to online publishers, please just let me know ahead of time.
I'm a Florida girl, and very accustomed to the rain. Rain simply means we improvise a little. Clear umbrellas are a great way to improvise formal wedding photos while it rains, but if you don't like them, we can always focus your photos indoors. I'm also not afraid of getting wet with you, should you want to splash in some puddles.
Acts of God can be unexpected and unavoidable. If something like this were to occur, I would work with you to reschedule. If you cannot reschedule or I cannot reschedule due to these events, both of us would be excused of any further payment or service.
No, I do not, but I love working with videographers and can recommend some really awesome ones! I will do my part to work with the videographer instead of against them.
Please just keep in mind that if you hire a videographer, we will have to extend the time it takes to take photos, so that the videographer can get what they need as well. Most of the time they shadow me, but sometimes they need extra stuff and it does add time. Just something to keep in mind.
Yes please! I do require a vendor plate to be provided for myself and my second photographer. However, we do not require a seat placement. I actually prefer to eat in the kitchen or outside, giving you and your guests privacy during dinner. Everyone tends to get nervous about eating with a camera present, because nobody likes photos of themselves eating, so that's why I tend to 'disappear' for a bit.
I travel all over the place. While I primarily work in North Carolina, I love destination weddings. You will never see a 'traveling fee' from me, because it's built into your quote and I don't itemize those. Each wedding is different, including travel time. However, I only add accommodations and food when I do charge extra. I never charge for the time it takes to travel.
Oh, you bet I do! One of the things I give to all of my wedding clients is a custom timeline of their day. From the time I get there, to the time I leave, I break down when I will be taking different kinds of photos. From the details, to the bride getting in her dress, to the ceremony, and onto the reception- I like my day to be planned out so that I'm sure not to miss a thing.
I understand that weddings can be pretty chaotic though, and things may not always go as planned. That's totally alright. I'm flexible, and will work around whatever hitch in the schedule we have to get back on track.
The week of your wedding I will send you an online questionnaire to fill out to gather some details so that I can create your custom timeline.
I am a very organized person. With that being said, I definitely work off a shot list. I want to make sure I get every shot you want, especially when it comes to formals! I build a shot list prior to the wedding based on your answers to my questionnaire that I send you.
