To say I’m excited about these photos would be an understatement. When I suggested this little beach to Frenchy for her and Trey’s engagement session, and she agreed enthusiastically, I knew the photos would be gorgeous. Fort Island Gulf Beach has yet to disappoint me, even in the midst of recovery. Not too long ago the area was damaged by a hurricane and suffered major flooding, but then only a few weeks later a tornado ripped through and demolished a lot of the coastline. The boardwalk I love to take my couples on to get photos at the pier was closed. The entrance literally looked like it had been picked up and dropped from above. Then there was the high water levels. Most of the rocks I like to explore were underwater, and the bugs were so bad because of it all. Even with all of that, we got some incredible golden light and shot well into twilight hour!
Trey and Frenchy were so incredible, so adorable, and absolutely in love. Trey even surprised Frenchy with an ‘official’ proposal at the end of their beach engagement session, since it was a small detail they hadn’t done. It was precious and beautiful!
I had such an amazing time that we went thirty minutes past sunset and barely noticed! I absolutely cannot wait to shoot their New Year’s Eve wedding at the end of this year.
