I’ve been photographing weddings for years, but what keeps me in love with this work isn’t just the celebrations themselves, it’s the stories behind them. The way two people look at each other, the way their love quietly fills a room, the moments that tell a story all their own. David and Brooke’s wedding was such a beautiful example of that. You could see it in every look, every touch, and every smile. They were simply meant for each other.
Their wedding took place at Andalusian Oaks, one of my favorite venues (and where we also captured their engagement session!). Josh and I drove down for the weekend, and Florida absolutely spoiled us with perfect weather. 78 degrees, sunshine, and a cool breeze that felt like it was made for a wedding day.
Every part of their celebration was stunning, elegant, thoughtful, and full of personal touches that reflected who they are. Brooke gifted her bridesmaids adorable “boo bags,” each one filled with subtle Halloween-inspired treats, and David gave out Chinese takeout boxes of candy to guests, a sweet nod to their playful personalities. You had to look closely to catch these little details, but that’s what made them so special. They added charm without taking away from the timeless beauty of the day.
Their ceremony was one of the most heart-touching I’ve ever witnessed. David walked Brooke down the aisle himself, holding her hand the entire time, as if he couldn’t bear to let go. During the ceremony, they shared a creative twist on the traditional unity candle with a science experiment that represented their love perfectly: unique, joyful, and completely their own. After their first kiss, David scooped Brooke up and carried her back down the aisle, both of them smiling the whole way. It was pure joy to witness.
There are so many moments that make a wedding beautiful, but the ones that stay with me are always the ones that reveal what love really looks like. Steady, joyful, and full of grace. David and Brooke’s day was all of that and more, and it was such an honor to capture a piece of their story.
