When my little sister, Colleen, announced she was getting married, I was overjoyed. But when she revealed her theme – The Phantom of the Opera – I knew it was going to be something truly extraordinary. The combination of mystery, romance, and just a slight touch of gothic elegance was right up her alley, and I was thrilled to be a part of it.

The color palette she chose – red, black, and gold – perfectly captured the hauntingly classic, yet glamorous atmosphere of the musical. (Check out their engagement session where they wore the same color scheme!) The maid of honor and matron of honor wore floor-length black gowns, while the best man sported an elegant black tux. Colleen’s gown was stunning with the intricate beading, but what really completed the themed look was her veil that was altered to look like a cape and hood.

The venue was Evan’s childhood church, where the piano he grew up learning was kept. When sitting down for portraits at it, he immediately started to play the main theme of the movie.

The reception was kicked off with a bride and groom dance, complete with masquerade masks, to the iconic song “All I Ask of You” from the film. All the guests either brought their own masks, or were provided some at their seats. The reception hall had red stained glass windows, and when the sun set just right the whole room started to glow red. It looked even better than professional DJ lighting. It was simply magical! To finish off the reception, Evan and Colleen played a ping pong match, and to no one’s surprise, Colleen won.

As the photographer, I had the privilege of capturing the beauty of the day. As the night drew to a close, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and wonder. Colleen and Evan’s wedding was more than just a celebration of love; it was a masterpiece of artistry and imagination. It was a night to remember, and I was honored to have been a part of it.
